Abstract Nettie Limon lived in the west Colfax area of Denver in the early 1900s and contributed to a number of Jewish organizations, including the West Side Benevolent Society. The West Side Benevolent Society was formed in 1906 and purchased land in 1908 for the Golden Hill Cemetery. The collection contains a Certificate for Membership of West Side Benevolent Society 1914; Certificate in Hebrew; Certificate for Contribution of $1.00 for U.S. Jewish Relief Day Special Fund 1916; Grand College Talmud...

The Kortz family originated in Brest Litovsk, Russia, and arrived in Denver, Colorado around 1885. The Kortz family and their descendants contributed to the development of Denver and its Jewish community.

From left to right are Anne Levitt Marcus, Mary Levitt (Rubanowitz), Tillie Levitt (Tein) with her daughter Linda Tein, and Dorothy Levitt (Cohen) with her daughter Sharon Cohen. Their parents, Isadore and Yetta Prezant Levitt, settled in the Eastern European Jewish neighborhood around West Colfax Avenue in Denver.

Miriam Milstein sits at a table with a tapestry behind her. Mrs. Milstein's husband was Shul Baer Milstein, an early leader in Denver, Colorado's west side Orthodox Jewish community, and Congregations Zera Abraham. Shul Baer Milstein was the patriarch of Cotopaxi Colony, an agricultural community located near Cotopaxi, Colorado that failed in 1884. The couple never lived in the Cotopaxi community.
